Do NOT Spend $300 on These

I know I'm too old for Tiktok, but for anybody who has been on it in the last few months, you probably remember the $300 balloon controversy.
Now, I'm not
The reason why this was so controversial is because people were like, "why would anybody pay $300 for that???", while others were on the stance of "the balloon lady can charge however much she wants! She doesn't need your business if you don't want to pay".
Personally, I wouldn't be one to pay $300 on balloon art, but I also wouldn't bully her into lowering her prices, especially since there are lots of other more affordable options out there. For Valentine's Day, I wanted to set up a little picnic, and felt like some balloon art would make it extra special! Since I haven't gone out in a year, I thought it would be a nice touch to put some effort into setting up the picnic so it didn't just feel like we were eating a typical meal at home.
I found a balloon arch kit on Amazon for under $20 that had a 4+ star rating with more than a hundred reviews!

Balloon Garland Kit by Valuri Creations (Sold on Amazon)

We Summarize Things
Totally awesome, quicker than I expected to put up, and worth every penny!
When I first received this balloon garland/arch kit, I felt a little overwhelmed and was pretty nervous about it. The kit comes with over 100 balloons! 😳 Especially when the Tiktok balloon lady challenged anybody who could do it cheaper, I wasn't sure what I was getting myself into.

The kit comes with balloons in 4 colors and 3 different sizes: white/silver/gold/confetti in 6, 12, and 18 inches. I decided to start with the confetti balloons first (because they looked really pretty and got me motivated to keep going), then the large balloons, and ended with the smaller ones. With the included hand pump, it didn't take too long! Probably about an hour to blow everything up. I had to take a few periodic breaks though because my fingers would hurt from knotting each of the balloons.
The balloons then slipped into a clear decorating strip, where you insert a balloon into each slot and it held all the balloons together in a nice little garland.

The most difficult part in my opinion is actually hanging the balloon garland up. I had to look up some directions online. Some suggested using command hooks, others said to use fishing line. Since I had neither, I ended up using some thread I found 😅. Initially, the thread would snap when it ran along the edge of the decorating strip and cut it, so I had to double up the thread. Then, it took forever but I made a loop with the thread to hang on my curtain rod. We didn't end up hanging the balloons for the picnic because I got hungry, but I was able to hang them up after as decoration.
After I hung the garland up, I used the smaller balloons and glue dots (included with the kit) to fill in any gaps.

I've had the balloons hanging up for a week now, and they still look pretty good! Some of the small balloons feel off and deflated, but the bigger ones still look fine.

If you are looking for that something ✨extra✨ for your parties, events, or even just rando decoration, I would highly recommend this balloon kit! If you have about an hour and a half to spare or so, it is totally worth it to just do this yourself. Please for the love of God, save the $300 for something else instead.
The kit is fine but you can definitely tell this wasn’t done by a professional. I like my time so I will pay for someone to do it. I have done ballon garlands myself and man oh man it was thin looking like yours ( not saying that’s bad or yours is bad because it looked just fine for what I was doing) and the time it took to blow up the balloons, hang them up, and finding cars to put the balloons in for travel isn’t fun for me. Don’t forget you can’t buy the cheap balloons and display them outside in the heat they will POP lol I will buy the balloon kit for something small but if…
