Okay. Hear me out. I tried to play a video game with my boyfriend one time and he got nauseous from my inability to control the remote. Something to do with the camera angles or whatever. I'm horrible at driving games too. I'm the type that runs into the side wall then overcorrects and runs into the other wall. And it's like that for the entire race. Even though I know nothing about video games and don't even know how to turn off a PS4, I felt the need to write about this because I've been playing this game every day for the past week or two.

Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory Video Game
Rating: B+
We Summarize Things
Would be an A if it weren't so darn expensive. Good for people who like "rhythm games" or don't play video games regularly.
So I'm not a gamer. At all. The only game I usually play is solitaire on my phone during virtual meetings. Buttttttt, everybody else that I live with plays lots of video games and are coincidentally obsessed with Kingdom Hearts. The last time I played a game was probably DDR at a local "barcade". I actually really enjoy those music games i.e. DDR, Guitar Hero, etc. Apparently they're called "rhythm games" or something like that. (Somebody please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.) So, when I learned that this game was coming out, I was actually kind of excited to try it!
First Impressions
This game comes in at the steep price of $60. Honestly, I don't think it's worth that much given that the game just has songs that you play the same way over and over again. Who knows though. Might be worth it if I'm not sick of playing it in a few weeks.
When you first load the game, it immediately launches you into a song with random prompts and no instructions or anything. I just pressed random buttons. I'm not sure why they did that. Maybe to kinda give you a preview of the game?
Luckily, after that random shitshow, you go through a tutorial and the controls are pretty easy. You pretty much just attack or jump/fly to the music. Sometimes it's the melody, sometimes it's the beat.
Gameplay
Each song you play through comes with different objectives to earn 3 stars. If you accumulate enough stars, you get to unlock new levels! After some songs there are cut scenes that kinda summarize the entire Kingdom Hearts story. Since I'm not familiar with the other games and characters, I couldn't really care less about these. Apparently they're good for catching up on the story if you didn't play the spin-off games.
We finished the actual storyline in like, 3 days 💀. I'm going back to get all the stars since they're not all needed to finish the game. I've even worked my way up to playing the hardest levels!
There's also different play modes like playing each song independently via Track Selection, or against a computer and even other people online (you need a PlayStation subscription for this). Those are pretty exciting because when you do well, you can attack your opponent so it's harder for them to play the song. I died a lot because I kept getting attacked. I also think the enemies are different on those modes compared to the World Tour.
This game is so addictive that sometimes find the songs stuck in my head and need to play right when I get home. My favorite one is the Alice in Wonderland one! I have even pulled up some songs on Spotify because there's orchestral versions that are pretty cool. If this game didn't cost a whopping $60 and instead, let's say $40, it would be a resounding A+. Don't go buying yourself a video game system just to play this game though. You're probably better off downloading another game on your phone at that point.
