"Limited Edition" means "Buy Now OR ELSE"

Whenever something says "limited", it somehow triggers me to buy it immediately. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Hellooooo! I'm back. I've had a bit of writer's block lately, but I promise I have some new posts coming! My daily routine has changed a bit, and I'm excited to share more about that in future posts! Bottom line - I've been tired of being a lazy pile and decided to do something about it.

This weekend, I'm taking a little road trip to see some friends! I don't know about you, but whenever I need to stay awake in a car, it helps to keep my mouth moving, like jamming to some summer hits, chasing a can of Red Bull with some Arizona iced tea, or snacking on a pile of road snacks.

We did not go light on those road snacks. Kid you not, amongst my fellow roadies are nine bags of chips. NINE. Plus some pretzels and Oreos and some candy because, ya know, gotta get that variety 😅. We ain't no carrot stick people. Actually, we started with three less bags, but those got picked up on a gas station break. At said gas station, I came across the Lay's Limited Summer Flavor chips, and decided to try them all! After all, they are limited. Who knows what I'd be missing out on? 😬

Jerk Chicken: Yummy goodness. Chile Mango: Disgusting Summer BLT: Tastes just like a BLT!

Wavy Jerk Chicken

Rating: A+

Wow! The flavor of these are 🤌chef's kiss🤌! These are so bold I don't think I can even describe the flavors appropriately. First, you get a sweet smoky chicken flavor, followed by a hint of spicy chili. If I had to describe it, I think it tastes like charred chicken tossed in a spicy marinade. I appreciate the kick to it, since I love spicy foods!

With the texture of the thicker wavy chip, these are the perfect outdoor summer snack! It was a great decision to pair the bold flavor with a more robust chip. You don't get the flavor of the underlying potato because these chips are heavily seasoned, but that's okay. The flavor kinda lingers in your mouth for awhile, but that's okay because it's a yummy flavor ☺️. I don't think I could crush an entire bag in one sitting, but that just means I'll have more for later!

Chile Mango

Lay's, WTF. Like, seriously. I was really excited to try these because mangoes are one of my favorite things about summer. Also, I was looking forward to the spiciness (see my flamin' hot post!) These chips taste neither like mango nor chile. It was a total miss on their part. In my opinion, they straight up taste like an air freshener. Like, one of those douchey gel-in-a-can ones. Gross.

I love potato chips, but these weren't even worth finishing. They had kind of a florally fragrant flavor to them? I think their biggest mistake was going with an artificial mango flavor instead of the genuine fruit. The ingredients say they used "mango powder". I don't know what that is, but that was not the way to go. And there's stevia extract? WTF? Also, they're not the least bit spicy. No chile presence. Nada. I'm so glad I only got a small bag of those because otherwise it would've been an even bigger waste.

Summer BLT

Okay, these are pretty bomb 💣. I expected to get like a generic MSG flavored potato chip like most meat flavored chips taste. However, you can taste the bacon, lettuce, and tomato here! Unlike the chile mango, I wish I got a bigger bag because these were a big hit and they were gone in a flash.

Apparently these taste just like a previously released BLT flavor Lay's did. I'm not exactly sure what a summer BLT is anyway, but I highly recommend these. They have a very pleasant flavor that would pair really well with sandwiches (perhaps a BLT? 🤭) or they're good on their own as well. My friend noted that he got a hint of mayo in the chips. Upon inspecting the ingredients, they used sour cream, which might have been where the mayo flavor came from. Anyway, if you like BLT's, try these. You will not be disappointed. The only reason the Jerk Chicken flavor scored slightly higher is because it was more unique, and the flavor is bolder.

Is it sad that I get excited over chips? 🤔 Maybe that's why I feel like a potato all the time... oh well 🤷🏻‍♀️ I love trying new things, including interesting potato chip flavors! Now that everything is opening up again, chips are a great item to bring to your family BBQ's, pool parties, or even for a late night snack after a night out! A note to Lay's: please do not attempt any sweet fruity flavors anymore.
