A Candle A Day Keeps the Fart Clouds Away ☁️

I have a problem. Whenever I walk into a Bath and Body Works, I always end up walking out with ten new candles. My addiction has become so bad that I have to put my out-of-season candles away because my shelves don't have enough room to keep them out on display.
Recently, I discovered that CANDLE SUBSCRIPTION BOXES EXIST 😳. Goodbye, life savings! I decided to give Wickbox a try and a few months ago, they sent me a candle by Northern Lights in the scent Mystic Moon.

Really pretty slow burning candle with an average scent. I hope I don't die from the fumes?
TBH, there's very few candles that I dislike, apart from those nauseating donuts and waffle scented ones. This candle smells pretty good, but I've smelt better. With notes of pumice, starfruit & moonflower, it's fresh and a little floral, reminds me of a clear night sky, or a Sunday evening bubble bath.
Soy candles in my opinion are a double edged sword. Yeah, you're not breathing in as many bad chemicals, but if you don't burn them immediately, they get this really lumpy bumpy texture in the surface, which is what happened with this one. My last Wickbox candle lasted longer than usual, so this one sat out for about 3 weeks. Not sure if that affects the overall performance of the candle, but it has a really slow initial burn. For anybody not in the know, candles need to be "trained". The rule of thumb is to let the initial burn melt the entire surface of the candle to avoid "tunneling". Usually, the initial burn time would be the same hours as the candle diameter. In this case, it took the 3" candle right about 2 hrs to burn through 1", and I was too tired to wait for it to finish. Sometimes I get impatient.

After a few uses, I got deep enough in the candle to see that the design on the sides was melting off??? That was a really big bummer because I thought the jar was so pretty and it would've made a really nice decoration on one of my shelves. Also, I hope that the design that melted off is made of wax and the dye is safe to breathe in, because if not, I'm definitely gonna get cancer or something.

I really liked the scent and overall, it's a very standard candle with a pretty neutral scent, perfect for anytime of the year and good to use as a bathroom candle. I'm not sure if I would recommend this though because I didn't have the best experience with the way it burnt, including the design 😫. Definitely not worth the $35 in my opinion.
That being said though, I still use Wickbox because I love receiving monthly candles that fit my scent profile. Not pinning this candle fail on the subscription service, because they have not disappointed me any other time. (Wickbox review to come soon!)
